Archived Awardees:
The Excellence in Geospatial Education Awards recognize individuals and organizations that have provided exemplary support to students, educators or two-year college programs focused on geospatial technology. The awards program was developed by the GeoTech Center more than 10 years ago to focus on two-year college geospatial educators and partners as there were few opportunities to give recognition to these educators and partners for their exceptional work. More than 25 Awards have been presented to educators and partners and we plan to continue to make awards, but we need your help.
Please help support educators and partners by nominating them for an award. Nominations can be submitted any time via a simple online form. We will close the nominations each award year on April 15 and awardees will be selected by the Nomination Committee by May 1. Awardees will receive notice of their award and will be asked if they would like to present during the awards ceremony at the GeoEd Conference in June in Kentucky.
There are three Award categories, two for individuals: (1) Lifetime Achievement in Two-year College Geospatial Education; and (2) Distinguished Geospatial Educator; and (3) a Distinguished Geospatial Education Partner award for an industry or government organization. The details for each award are listed below.
